A Special Champion Award was awarded this year to Richie Strong from Honeywell, in recognition of his continued support and promotion of bicycling as a viable commute alternative.  Richie had, until recently, an unbroken record of 2.5 years of bicycle commuting, interrupted only by a severe automobile accident. He remains a strong advocate of bicycle commuting, and had this to say: "I do not want my experience to deter anyone from bike commuting because they perceive it to be too unsafe. I fully plan to return to bike commuting once my recovery allows."

Richie encourages fellow bikers to get involved in supporting the proposed state Vulnerable User legislation. We thank Richie for his continued support for bicycling, and wish him a speedy and complete recovery.
