With all the options available for you to get to work, it is easy to become overwhelmed. Read the summaries of each of the commuting options below to determine which choice(s) could work for you.

 
Sound Transit BusConsider Public Transit (bus/train) if you...
  • need to have flexibility in your commute choice each day
  • live less than 15 miles from work or on an express transit route
  • work a variable day shift starting between 7 and 11 am which may vary each day
  • have transit stops or a transit center within walking distance of where you live
  • would arrive at a transit center where there is transportation available (bicycle, carpool, vanshare, or shuttle) to get you to your worksite
  • prefer choices as to when you arrive at work and when you leave each day
  • prefer converting your commute time into quality time to sleep, read, or work
  • prefer never to drive
  • want to save significantly on your commuting costs
  • want to possibly eliminate the need for a personal vehicle
  • don’t want to worry about finding a parking space at work

    before 7 a.m.

  • want to reduce some of the wear and tear on your personal vehicle
  • don’t have convenient bus service available
  • want to save some money on your commute
  • have people living around you that work where you do
  • want to take advantage of HOV lanes

  • want to be able to park in carpool spaces
